***************Recycling Meets Rudolph
Create this playful reindeer project with a couple of corrugated cardboard boxes and our handy template .
- Print out templates on 11x17" paper.
- Trace the head twice, and the antlers once on corrugated cardboard (we purchased flat boxes from Staples).
- Cut out two head patterns. On the inside of each head pattern, score along the dotted line as shown on the pattern. To score, use an xActo knife to cut partially through the cardboard, which allows the cardboard to fold easily along that line.
- Place heads together so they are matching, making sure scored lines are on the inside.
- Glue nose section together, matching exactly, so the two heads are connected at the nose.
- Allow glue to dry.
- Open heads to form a slight V, and insert deer antlers in top grooves.
- Place rectangular brace in back.
- Add antler prongs in grooves.
- Glue red construction paper to either side of the nose (traced and cut out from template) .
- Use a black sharpie to draw circle for eye.
- Place reindeer head in wreath of your choice.
