Angels From The Realms Of Glory

Angels from the realms of glory,
Wing your flight o'er all the earth
Ye who sang creations story,
Now proclaim messiah's birth

Come and worship, come and worship,
Worship Christ the new-born king

Shepherds in the field abiding,
Watching oe'r your flocks by night
God with man is now residing,
Yonder shines the infant light.

Sages leave your contemplations,
Brighter visions beam afar.
Seek the great desire of nations,
Ye have seen his natal star.

Saints before the altar bending,
Watching long in hope and fear
Suddenly the Lord descending
In his temple shall appear.

Craft Project: Braided
Baubles Christmas

Presented by Holidays on the Net and Perfect Christmas Book: Easy & Elegant Christmas Trees By Claire Worthington
Braided Baubles © 1998 Collins & Brown Limited

Braided Baubles

Braids, ribbons and sequins are quickly and simply held in place with dressmakers' pins making this project very versatile

You will need:

  • COLORED TISSUE PAPER
  • STYROFOAM BALLS
  • RUBBER-BASED GLUE
  • GOLD CORD
  • DRESSMAKERS' PINS
  • FANCY BRAID
  • SEQUINS (OPTIONAL)
  • COLORED PINS (OPTIONAL)
How to:

1. Cut out strips of tissue paper that are long and wide enough to wrap around the Styrofoam balls
2. Wrap the tissue paper around the balls and glue into place at the top and bottom with the rubber-based glue<
3. Wind the gold cord around each ball to make whatever pattern you want. Use the dressmakers' pins to invisibly secure it, gluing the pin in place to prevent it falling out accidentally
4. Embellish further using fancy braid. Here the braid overlaps alternate strands of the cord, but there are many other ways in which you can use it (see above for some further ideas)

Watch The Polar Express

The Polar Express is a 2004 motion capture computer-animated fantasy film based on the children's book of the same title by Chris Van Allsburg. Written, produced, and directed by Robert Zemeckis, the human characters in the film were animated using live action performance capture technique, with the exception of the waiters who dispense hot chocolate on the train, because their feats were impossible for live actors to achieve. Performance capture technology incorporates the movements of live actors into animated characters. The film stars Daryl Sabara, Nona Gaye, Jimmy Bennett, and Eddie Deezen, with Tom Hanks in six distinct roles. The film also included a performance by Tinashe at age 9, who later gained exposure as a pop singer in 2010, as the CGI-model for female protagonist. The film was produced by Castle Rock Entertainment in association with Shangri-La Entertainment, ImageMovers, Playtone and Golden Mean, for Warner Bros. The visual effects and performance capture were done at Sony Pictures Imageworks. The studio first released the $165 million film in both conventional and IMAX 3D theaters on Wednesday, November 10, 2004.
